Travel | Summer Holiday

Hi Everyone!

I thought I’d write a post about a recent holiday I went on with my family at the end of July to St Ives in Cornwall. If you’ve never been, it’s definitely somewhere I recommend going to! I’ve been going pretty much every year, and it has to be one of my favourite places. When you’re there you wouldn’t think you were still in England, the beaches are so white and the sea is so blue!

We like to spend our holiday just relaxing on the beach in the sun, although there is always one day where we all end up huddling up in our beach tent hiding from the rain! That’s all part of the fun though 🙂

There’s 3 beaches in St Ives (not including the harbour!), Porthminster, Porthmeor and Porthgwidden. We tend to go on Porthmeor beach which is known as the surfing beach as some of my family go body boarding, if not we go to Porthminster, that one is the one which is most like an abroad beach! Porthgwidden is the smallest and is in a little cove which tends to be much quieter.

There’s plenty of nice places to eat out around St Ives as well! Each year we go to our favourite restaurant called Peppers. It’s a lovely little Italian down one of the main streets, we ate there twice on our trip this year because we like it that much haha! Me and my boyfriend also went to a restaurant called The Hub which is on the seafront and sells burgers, hot dogs etc. That was also nice, the portions were huge! We had breakfast at Porthminster Kitchen one morning as well which was also looking over the harbour, I had granola with yogurt and fruit (photo above!) which was lovely. We also ate tons of ice cream and cornish pasties as that’s what going to Cornwall is all about! Haha

The photo of the sunset over Porthmeor beach was one I took the other year from a cottage we had looking over the beach, it was lovely!

Where’s your favourite place to go on holiday in the UK? 🙂
