It’s now day 3 of our trip here in NYC, it feels like we’ve been here a lot longer than that though which is good! 🙂
We have had quite a busy day today, and managed to sleep until about 6:30am which is better than yesterday! It’s much colder here today, but bearable. We wrapped up warm and headed out after having a quick breakfast!
First stop of the day was ground zero. As soon as we got there it immediatly sent shivers through my spine. It’s such a sad place but the memorial is beautiful. I would like to try go back before we leave.
We then went to the 9/11 museum, as we got there early we didn’t have to wait long in line and it meant we could go round without too much of a crowd. There was so much to see and it was really interesting but after a being in there a while it does start to become a bit much, it really is upsetting. If you do plan a trip to NYC I recommend visiting here, I’m really glad I did.
We then headed back out into the snow and headed towards Brooklyn Bridge. We decided to walk there as Google maps was telling us it would take longer to get the subway, and we didn’t mind the walk as we got to do a bit of exploring! 🙂 Due to it snowing, the view around was quite restricted so we have agreed to come again on our trip if we get a clearer day, or even come at night time as we’d like to cross over and take a photo of the bridge and Manhattan skyline.
After that we decided to make our way to Little Italy where I’d found a nice little cafe people suggested on Pinterest called Two Hands, I had a cup of tea and a massive slice of banana cake.. but I’d eaten it all before I remembered I wanted to take a picture haha! Will had a coffee and scrambled eggs on sour dough toast. It was lovely, although it was busy so we were a bit squished!
Next stop, a little wonder down 5th Avenue looking at the shops. We didn’t buy anything, just had a browse around. I’ve got my eye on some clothes though so will no doubt go spend all my money!
We finished the night off with a meal at the Olive Garden at Times Square. This was one of our favourite restaurants to eat at in Orlando so we were desperate to go back, just a bit put off by some of the reviews on trip advisor about the prices and also wait times, but we had a great experience! I had Chicken Alfredo.. Mmmm! We were sat straight down too so it was a winner all around for us!
More pictures of our day., there’s a lot of them.. 🙂
So that was our day! Looking forward to day 4 tomorrow! 🙂
