Buying Our First Home – 1 Month to Go!

November 8, 2016

Hello! 🙂

So, it’s been a while since I have updated you guys on myself and Wills little first home journey with Redrow. We are now onto the 1 month countdown until we complete! I know I previously said November 5th but that wasn’t the right date. We were then given a date of November 25th but sadly last week this got pushed back due to the render on the house and a few other bits not being done on time.

Redrow Belgrave 1

So since my last house update, everything external on the house is now complete (I think!). I was so happy a few weeks ago when our sales guy James sent us some photos of the house, it made it all seem so much more real. The photo above is before the render has gone on. It’s really strange seeing the house as an actual house rather than a visual on a piece of paper, we are so pleased with how it looks, especially as we reserved off plan with no visual at all so it was definitely worth the risk. 🙂

We’ve not yet been allowed into the house as we have been waiting for them to finish second fix, which is the plastering, fitting the kitchen etc.

Belgrave Kitchen

Above is our kitchen, the photo is a little dark as it wasn’t a sunny day (typically!) and the plaster is still drying out. It’s the same kitchen choice as the Warwick showhome which is on the development next-door to ours which we fell in love with straight away. Can’t wait to see it properly without the bubble wrap on! 🙂

This is a photo of our garden, we were so pleased with the size. It will look a bit smaller once we have our fence up between ours and next-door, it will go where the back fence starts going off to a point which is still a really good size garden for a new build as normally you tend to get little box gardens!

Belgrave External

We can’t get right up outside our house yet as it’s all fenced off, but we had a wonder round to the development over the weekend as we were dying to see if they’d got the render done on the house, and they had! So here is a photo from afar of our terrace with the lovely render on. Once we can get up close I’ll make sure I get a proper photo but I am so pleased with it! 🙂

We had our Redrow welcome party last Thursday where you meet the customer service manager and they get together with your sales person and also the neighbours to explain what happens next. It’s also a good opportunity to find out who you’ll be living near which is nice!

So other than that, it’s pretty much a waiting game! We will get to go for our home preview from 2 weeks before we are due to complete where we get to go see the finished house, then completion day will finally be here!

How exciting this is! It’s a shame it’s been pushed back but it’s only by a little bit and it will be worth the wait! The garden is so big for a new build you’re right! How exciting for you and I really can’t wait to see the rest of your journey, it’s going to speed up from here! Xx
