Redrow Homes – Completion on our first home!

December 23, 2016

Hello Blog, it’s been a while! The past few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind with us moving into our new home we have bought through a developer called Redrow Homes, I didn’t realise two people could have so much stuff and how tiring moving house was! There’s still boxes everywhere but we are getting there and definitely feel like our new house is our home. I thought it was time to give you all a little blog update now the house is starting to come together.

We completed on our Redrow home on Friday 9th December. The day we waited 6 months to arrive was finally here. It was a very exciting day, and also a long morning waiting for the phone call to tell us we could go and collect our keys!

Redrow Hamper

We collected our keys about 2pm that afternoon and were taken to our home by James our sales guy. We arrived to our front door which had a lovely red bow on it and James took a photo of us both outside our home before we went in. We had been in the house earlier in the week for our home demo so had seen all of our options already which were all perfect, we were so impressed to find a lovely hamper with lots of goodies in our kitchen. There was also hand soap and toilet roll in all bathrooms which was also a lovely touch. We felt like Redrow took that extra step to make the journey great.

We had our carpet fitters booked in for Saturday so couldn’t start moving in until the later that day once they’d finished all the flooring. We couldn’t believe the difference flooring could make to a house! We have gone for a light grey carpet throughout, and oak style lino for the kitchen and wet rooms.

First meal in the house was obviously a McDonalds! Being original and using boxes as tables haha! We needed to burn the oven out for a while before being able to cook in it with it being new, but who can be bothered cooking after a crazy day of moving?!

Christmas Tree

We had a few days off from work to get the house homely as possible for Christmas, although with a Redrow home it really doesn’t take much! My main priority was the christmas tree, no one believed me it would be up by the end of the weekend, but it was!

We still have so much to do, but so pleased with how much the house has changed in 2 weeks. We are so excited that we get to wake up here Christmas morning in our very own home. We have gone for a very black grey and white theme in the house, that way we can accessorise it with colour here and there! We have been getting a lot of nice compliments with how it’s looking, we think it really brightens up the house.

We would also like to give a massive thank you to James who has made our journey the best it could be! He went above and beyond to make it perfect for us, and not only was our sales exec, but like a friend of ours too! 🙂 We never want you to leave the development, it will be strange not having you in the showhome behind the house!

Watch this space for more of our journey on here, I can’t wait for you all to see our home come together!

Congratulations on moving in! I love how you’ve decorated it, it looks homely already!

My brother moved into a Bellway apartment in August. he’d waited 18 months for it, it’s lovely that everything is brand new too and you can pretty much just move in.

I love that the colour theme is quite monotone so that you can add a pop of colour in wherever you want! Even if it was just cushions, it means you can easily change the colour of a room whenever you like. I recently decorated my bedroom all white with a bold yellow feature wall and grey throws and cushions, it feels so clean and modern.

    Happy Christmas, love the tree!

Thank you! 🙂 Gosh, that’s a long wait, I bet it was worth it though 🙂
That’s exactly why we’ve gone quite monotone, at least when we get bored of one colour we can change it again without having to repaint the room or whatever! 🙂
Thank you for reading, hope you have had a lovely christmas! xx
