A weekend at The Zetter Hotel, London
Recently myself and Will had a lovely trip down to London for the weekend for some birthday celebrations and a bit of pre-holiday shopping. We booked ourselves into a lovely hotel called The Zetter which is situated in Clerkenwell. They also have The Zetter Townhouse next-door which looks super cute! The hotel is really near to Farringdon station so it was very easy to find from Kings Cross and very practical for getting around.
We booked directly through the hotel website and took advantage of their offer called “The Long Weekender”. This is a minimum 2 night stay with 15% discount which also includes a few little extras such as continental breakfast each morning, a complimentary cocktail and late 2pm checkout.
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely gentleman at reception who wished Will a happy birthday and asked about our day. As we arrived earlier than check in, we were offered to either drop our bags so we could go explore or switch to a room that was ready. We were happy to wait for our room so the hotel said they’d give us a call to let us know when it was ready for us.
We got a call about lunchtime to say our room was ready so after a few hours of looking around the shops and getting soaked thanks to typical British weather, we headed back to the hotel. When we arrived back we were told we’d had a complimentary upgrade to a superior room which was so lovely of them! We went up to our room, admiring the lovely decor in the atrium and opened the door to find a bottle of prosecco as a birthday treat which was a lovely touch.
Our room was very bright and spacious. It had huge windows which let in so much light. The bed was one of the most comfy beds I have ever slept in, you even get a hot water bottle for the extra cold nights (or if like me you just get cold all of the time!). There’s a separate work station if you are travelling for work – also where the snacks are which is great if you get peckish! A smart TV so you can keep up to date with all your fave programmes. The little extra touches to the room are what I love about The Zetter, like an umbrella for the rainy days (which do happen a lot because it’s England!), a Bose speaker?! Perfect for getting ready for a night out or if you want a little hotel dance haha. Super speedy wifi is also a bonus, as if you’re like me you are forever on Instagram or watching Youtube in bed before you go to sleep!
The bathroom has a very roomy “raindance” shower with REN bath products which were lovely. Big fluffy bath towels and robes so you can really pamper yourself after a busy day of exploring and getting about London – so perfect!
We enjoyed the continental breakfast both mornings of our stay. The first morning we went downstairs for it in the restaurant and the 2nd morning we decided to have it brought to our room for a small fee of £3.50 (bargain!). It was lovely both mornings, I really loved their granola and yogurt with fruit and honey. There was the option of various cereals, toast, pastries and fruit. Perfect for us. They also have other breakfast options such as a full english if that’s something you’d fancy instead. We really loved the decor of the hotel, I especially loved the restaurant – so gorgeous!
Our weekend in London was lovely, and we had a great time exploring and doing some shopping – all very tiring, so coming back to the hotel for little breaks before heading out again was perfect. We did some exploring around Notting Hill and other places trying to get some photos. Will wanted to test out his camera and I needed to get over the fact I’m camera shy so we thought we may as well give some blog/Insta pics a go!
We throughly enjoyed our stay at The Zetter Hotel from start to finish. Next time we are in London it’s somewhere that will be on the top of our lists. We would try to stay in one of their Rooftop rooms which look amazing on their website. Make sure you check those out as they have recently been refurbished too! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making our stay so wonderful and going that extra mile to make Will’s birthday a little more special.
We are going on holiday to Florida soon, so make sure you keep an eye out for the blog posts for those coming soon! I can’t wait to share the trip with you! 🙂
